As far back as I can remember I’ve been interested in recording things. My dad had an old home Sennheiser HI-FI mic and I would put it inside his old classical guitar and play it through our family stereo. I was making albums long before I owned a Tascam 424 four-track recorder; and long before I could play an instrument, too!
I’m now a music writer, producer and performer, creating and developing unique cross genre music for a variety of projects - from solo artists to feature films. You can find examples of all my work here on this website.
I’ve spent years studying the process of making music. Ever since I finally got that four-track in 1995, I’ve cultivated my interest in recording and production. Since 2005, I’ve been an actively gigging recording artist. I teach music; I play music; I live music.
These days I’m passionate in equal measure about songwriting, producing other artists and composing for motion picture. I feel so fortunate and super inspired to now have my own small studio just outside of Birmingham called Little Dog. I’m always looking for new and exciting projects to get involved in.
I’ve come along way from that Sennheiser HI-FI. But in a way, I’m still just putting microphones next to things to see what happens. I still love finding out – drop me a line if you want to be part of the experiment. x
